On January 6, 1972, Carl D. Dawson, Sr. married Jannette Malone Weaver, née Norma Jannette Malone at the home where they still live today. It was the second marriage for each of them and they were 11 years apart. Carl’s first wife and the mother of his two sons, Emily, had passed away almost two years earlier. Jannette, not yet legally known as Jan, finalized her divorce from Robert Weaver the previous year.

It started as an office friendship that blossomed into an office romance. It became a love story for the ages. Happy 53rd anniversary, mom and dad. I love you both so much.
